Grundfos CRN – MAGdrive | New and MAGnificent CRN sealless drive

Hermetic sealed pump operation
In industries where pumping of dangerous and aggressive liquids is an integrated part of the daily operation, safety is top priority. Pumps that leak are dangerous for their surroundings and neither suitable nor safe for handling that kind of liquids.

Years of close cooperation with our clients in the industry, has taught us that the traditional CR shaft seal solution, is unsuitable for the handling of aggressive liquids.

Therefore, Grundfos has developed the CRN MAGdrive; a vertical multi-stage centrifugal pump. With the CRN MAGdrive, Grundfos has designed a sealless pump for industrial applications, which do not leak. Thanks to the magnetic drive, the pump is hermetically sealed, and do not present any risk to its surroundings.

Magnetic-drive pump (MAGdrive)
Grundfos CRN MAGdrive pumps operate according to a patented, magnetic-drive system that eliminates the need for shaft seals. The power from the motor is transmitted to the pump by magnetic force and not by a conventional coupling. Combined with a hermetically sealed liquid end, the pump is totally leak-free. Read more…

Grundfos DIRECT SENSORS

The Grundfos Direct Sensors are 2-in-1 silicon based sensors for measurement of flow or pressure or differential pressure.

The Relative Pressure Sensor (RPS) and Vortex Flow Sensor (VFS) are with integrated temperature measurement intended for boilers in central heating units, whereas the Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS) is intended for heavy duty pump solutions.

Grundfos Direct Sensors type RPS, is a series of combined pressure and temperature sensors (two-in-one) designed for high-volume production. The RPS sensors are fully compatible with wet, aggressive media and are available for pressure ranges of 0-0.6, up to 0-16 bar (relative pressure).

Grundfos Direct Sensors, type VFS, is a series of combined flow- and temperature sensors (two-in-one) based on the principle of vortex shedding behind a bluff body. The VFS sensors are designed for high-volume production and are fully compatible with wet, aggressive media. The VFS sensor utilizes MEMS sensing technology in combination with a novel packaging concept using corrosion-resistant coating on the MEMS sensor element. This makes the VFS sensor very robust and ideal for high-volume OEM applications. VFS sensors are available for flow ranges of 1-12, 1-20, 2-40, 5-100, 10-200 and 20-400 l/min.

The Grundfos differential pressure sensor is a true wet/wet solution, available in the differential pressure ranges of 0.6 – 10 bar. Read more…

Effective and safe disinfection with chlorine dioxide

GRUNDFOS ALLDOS Oxiperm Pro systems produce chlorine dioxide using diluted solutions of sodium chlorite (NaClO2 7.5%) and hydrochloric acid (HCl 9%). They are available in two capacity levels, producing 5 and 10 g/h of chlorine dioxide respectively. This capacity is sufficient to treat up to 25 m³ of drinking water per hour at the maximum admissible concentration of 0.4 mg/l ClO2. Chlorine dioxide is produced on demand from diluted solutions using the reliable sodium chlorite / hydrochloric acid, in accordance with the German Drinking Water Directive.

The chlorine dioxide solution produced is stored in an integrated tank and is added to the drinking water system as required using the integrated dosing pump or an external dosing pump.
